From yesterday's LA Times, poll of likely voters re: next Governor: Becerra 55%; Hilton 37%, 8% Undecided. Unless the CA Republican Party comes up with a compelling reason that reaches Dems in this State and causes them to question even the most fundamental drivers to the Taxation WITH Representation that has and continues to prevail, the Brown Bears will just keep clawing away more of our freedoms and discretionary $. In fact, as I write this, I am reminded of increasing images of scavenging brown Bears scouring easy sources of nourishment to feed their appetites.
My father was way ahead of the curve decades ago. He was born in California and lived here most of his life. When California taxes became ridiculous, he moved his legal residence to Florida. He spent six months and one day every year living with my sister in Florida. He would then return to Santa Barbara, rent a car, and enjoy the beautiful time of year here as opposed to sweltering in the miserable Florida heat and humidity. Things have gotten even worse in California, to the point that many reasonable people have abandoned the ideal weather here to move permanently to places like Tennessee, Texas, and Florida. The saying used to be “go West young man”

However, an overlooked genius feature created by our founders is our federal system of government which enables the citizens of our country to see how each state governs itself and compare the results. The states which do a good job will attract more citizens, especially the more creative and productive ones.
