So many problems with our voting system. Here’s just one: I lived in a large apartment house in LA. There was one central rack of mailboxes in a hallway off the lobby. The postman would throw any undeliverable mail in a large tray underneath. It was always full of mail-in ballots at election time. Any dishonest person could pick up an armload and mail them in. Mail in voting is fraught with fraud opportunities.
You laid it out very well Lou. Yes the bill needs to be more comprehensive and more work is definitely needed to tighten things up and to make sure that votes are counted ON election day. Not three and four weeks later (as they’re needed by the Democrats). It’s gonna take a lot more than prop 39 to restore my faith in anything that has to do with California elections.
California has intentionally and deliberately set up voting laws to keep the Democratic Party in undisputed power. This strategy, along with prohibition of investigative journalism (Nick Shirley Act) which is critical of Democratic politics, is no accident and all by design in order to quash any and all opposition. NGO’s + Public Sector Unions + Environmental Radicalism + Rainbow Activism = Political Dominance. All codified by California State Law.
In fact, California has become so dysfunctional, that where else can a state employee and UCSB Professor call for the violent overthrow of the government with NO apparent consequences?
I have read reports that Spencer Pratt was the victim of vote harvesting from homeless in downtown Los Angeles. Legal vote harvesting is legal cheating and the harvesters get paid for this. According to reports, harvestes (is that a word?) were also paid or bribed with a pack of Kool cigarettes.

To maximize election security and prevent voter fraud, I propose updating the voting system with the following measures:
Secure Identification: Attach a thumbprint to your driver's license to verify your identity.
Controlled Location: Cast votes at the police department—overseen by law enforcement rather than City Hall with volunteers—to maintain a secure environment.
Instant Verification: Automatically send an email and text confirmation detailing who you voted for.
Well, this is a conundrum. If the perpetually rigged california elections have NOT been fixed ie illegals voting, democrat antics (ballot stuffing, harvesting, pay to play, shredding, dumping, hiding, copying etc) then how will this voter ID proposition pass? The recent primary rigged election has already resulted in some "selected" candidates nationwide. I vote to pause the midterm election until we have a safe and secure system. If you dont know what this takes, then research it.

India has voting ID but you sometimes need time to get your name in the list of you've been living elsewhere. We don't have mail in ballot yet, but opens up opportunities or perception of abuse.

If you are so confident there is no election fraud, then why don't you agree to the simple fact that requiring Voter ID will not affect the elections? Its such an obvious fact voter integrity is necessary and an issue, but if these Dems state there is no fraud, then agree that it won;t matter if voter ID is required.!!!! Its just an insane response and makes no sense. We MUST have voter ID period!!! Its common snese, its not racist, and does not discourage anyone other than those who should not be voting. COMMON SENSE!!!
Until recently, I served as a poll worker. We were not permitted to ask for identification. But always, some voters would approach us with their driver's license already out. They'd get upset even when we told them to put the ID away. And I have to add, whenever a store clerk asks to see my ID, I will reply with a thank you.
Where is the alleged “voter fraud” you claim there is, which this prop aims to eliminate? There has never been credible evidence, only unproven accusations. There are not armies of people filling out ballots for eligible voters like many in the Republican party love to claim. Voter rolls are kept and votes are tracked so there’s no duplicates in the system.
In fact, the bigger issue is encouraging everyone to vote and to voice their opinion through the ballot. “Election Integrity” is merely a veil to disincentivize people from voting. Discouraging people from voting sounds a lot like certain people have things to hide and fear losing power.

I am an old school (Republican) guy raised with Midwestern values. We have a saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
If it is broke, fix it immediately.
