I can see the writing under the snake. First this rip off bill will pass and become a permanent extortion of tax dollars from the hard working folks of CA then they will reverse Prop 13, and off to the races with our property taxes. Add that to the wealth tax where all the wealthy leave CA for TX and those of us remaining here will see death by 1000 cuts.
I would feel better if the numbers were where they should be in CA schools, we should be leading the nation on all metrics, how is it that our UC system is the best and our public K-12 is not? Time to find another scapegoat.
When I moved to California with my three boys in the summer they started school and all three came home with their last years school books. It was if they took the same grade all over again. What a waste. Also, in Washington state all three were "C" students, but here in California, they were "A" students all the way through grade school and high school. The public schools system is just a scam to obtain money from taxpayers to pay administrator high salaries who do nothing to educate our children.
I sent them out of state to get a college education due to the poor learning conditions in California colleges.
I was a Cal Poly San Luis Obispo adjunct faculty Nutrition instructor. I rewrote my courses daily to be upto speed with real research (not funded by big pharma) and my culture course had debate topics like gun control, cartels, gmo's, political leaders, religion, child trafficking, death of middle class... I had student teams fo 4 present on various countries to compare and contrast life around the world. My sectiins ( 60 limit) all filled with 100 on my waitlists while tenure staff sections were cancelled bc not enough on roster. Admin did everything to get me out including having tenure staff audit my classes. I quit! The system makes it impossible for good teachers to survive. So sad, bc students loved me, learned how to think for themselves, work in teams, and build good character.
Absolutely Vote NO on Prop 3. I am a teacher and the teacher unions are evil and what they support is NOT in the best interest of children. They are power hungry along with the bureaucrats that have never been in a classroom. They just line their pockets with money from these initiatives and propositions. Hopefully the dept of Education gets eliminated too! CA is the worst for education
The teachers union will promote the idea that a no vote on Prop 3 is a another tax break for the rich and furthers the Trump agenda. In California, the ideas of sticking it to the rich and thwarting Trump may well win passage of this permanant tax. Throwing more money at government only expands government while leaving outcomes for the tax payer unchanged. This reality is lost on the Democrat Socialists.
Voting no on all tax increase initiatives until the state starts being more honest with how the money is actually used. My taxes are so high but there are schools that I still donate supplies to because they're still considered poor. How come the money isn't being distributed equally if it's being distributed at all?

I also just read about a bill raising pensions for I think firefighters and maybe police. Cities, counties are going broke paying pension premiums. Time to stop.

Our government has enough money to get done what is necessary, they don't need more of our money. Every CA tax is a way to launder money for globalist "self appointed" politicians through fraudulant elections. This midterm needs to be cancelled until we have removed all avenues for fraud.
We can continue to complain or we can start a movement to end this insanity. The teachers get very small amounts of this. It’s the administrators that benefit.
I say let’s pay for performance. Get a new bill in the books to defund the education system and put a new bill together to give it adequate funding to teach kids the basics
