Great Job Jim, to you and Current staff for blowing the whistle and sounding the alarm as to the fraud, abuse and corruption that is occurring in our once golden state.
Ironically, our founding fathers battled the same challenges ie, tyranny and taxation without representation.
Sadly, today California is not battling King George, but the one party Democratic apparatus which has a demonstrated track record of corruption, abuse and fraud.
Weather it be the grifting of public funds or the indoctrination of our children with filth and rebellion in our public schools, enough is enough and time for Californians independence from the one party, unipolar, failed liberal state! 🇺🇸
BY SIGNING THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE THE 56 AMERICANS PLEDGED THEIR LIVES AND THEIR FORTUNES AND THEIR SACRED HONOR.
Unlike almost everyone and everything said and done today seeking equivocation and relativity....these were men of consequence betting their very lives and that of their children on an undiscovered country.
IT WAS NO IDLE PLEDGE:
NINE SIGNERS DIED OF WOUNDS DURING THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR
FIVE WERE CAPTURED OR IMPRISONED. WIVES AND CHILDREN WERE KILLED, JAILED, MISTREATED OR LEFT PENNILESS.
TWELVE SIGNERS' HOUSES WERE BURNED TO THE GROUND.
SEVENTEEN LOST EVERYTHING THEY OWNED.
NO SIGNER DEFECTED - THEIR HONOR LIKE THEIR NATION, REMAINED INTACT
Good luck on the new weekly. My biggest concern is that it will not find its way to the libtards that need to read different views and ideas than they have had rammed down their throats by a corrupt teachers union in league with the corrupt Dems. Are there any new marketing ideas? Or are you just gonna hope that they stumble on to the site?
I’m not sure of the cost or if they would even let you advertise in that rag, The Independent. But that is where the mind numbed robots of the left get their local information from.
Great idea... Obviously, you're not going to win the hearts and minds of the vast majority of those readers, but it would at least expose an alternative media/perspective. Not everyone reading that "that rag" (agree) is a Lefty...many use it as a local entertainment guide (and few bird cages no doubt).
“Upon close inspection by trained investigators, the proscribed relationship between the official and the co-conspirator becomes apparent. It can also surface when those plotting the scheme covertly agree to conceal their being symbiotically joined at their hip pockets. In today’s electronic world of emails and high-speed research, such concealment rarely lasts,”

Congrats Jim. And on a perfect day to make an announcement! Hopefully we can draw more folks in to be exposed to un-emotional facts, critical thinking..... and common sense! The road ahead looks bright.
Thank you and much hope for your success. When you highlighted that there were 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, it caused me to remember that there were 51 signers of the letter which asserted that the stories about the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation. What a contrast! Berney
Happy 250th. While we’re talking about accountability in California, here’s what it looks like when a citizen actually tries to use the system.
In December 2025, a pro se plaintiff in Orange County filed a 141-page federal civil rights complaint (Hollis v. Patton et al., 8:25-cv-02810, C.D. Cal.) against a California State Parks peace officer, a Butte County court commissioner, a court-appointed mediator, and a Riverside County custodial deputy. The allegations: recorded sexual assault of an incapacitated victim, two and a half years of forensically dated surveillance malware on the plaintiff’s devices, twice-admitted perjury under oath, and a mediator caught on audio saying “Who is the commissioner going to believe? The man with the badge or the man who already has orders against him?”
Seven months after the complaint was filed, the CDPR Superintendent over the same district was arrested on felony eavesdropping charges with approximately 23 victims.
The federal court’s response? 118+ docket entries and the merits have never been reached. A magistrate judge transferred the case 400 miles away without consent or a report and recommendation. The Ninth Circuit denied mandamus — citing the wrong statute (28 U.S.C. § 626, which governs magistrate pay, not § 636, which governs their authority). Three circuit judges. Wrong statute. Case closed.
The AG declined to represent two of the defendants — then private counsel appeared instead, which tells you everything about whether the conduct was within official capacity.
This is what fighting for accountability looks like in California in 2026. The case is public record. Look it up. central dist. (8:25-cv-02810) hollis V Patton Et Al. And Eastern disteict (2:26-cv-01658) Hollis V Patton Et Al.
Is it possible to imagine who, among today's politicians and statesmen, could credibly make the commitments made by the founders of this great American nation?
Excellent news and your timing on the California version of this publication is mission-critical. As a native Californian for over 60 years, it’s appalling what has taken place in the time I have lived here, and what’s deeply concerning is how our youth has been thoroughly brainwashed to support the new direction via rhetoric based on false/misleading information; they have no clue why or how everything has gotten so out of control.
The Democrats are offering them the alluring promise of higher wages, justice for all, equality on things like jobs, housing, free education, a living wage and more — anything that speaks to an improved quality of life, all which has been eroded by inflation. However, there is a disconnect; when I speak to young people today, they do not seem to understand where our inflation is coming from. They also don’t appear to understand that the cost of these promises will be passed to them indirectly through higher taxation.
This magic bullet that they’ve been offered is like a sugar-coated cyanide pill to the American way of life. Slowly and insidiously, our freedoms will likely be taken away through measures passed, to either be dispensed to those deemed ‘less fortunate’ and/or to increase the state and city revenues… and many won’t ever see it coming. After all, history has proven again and again that socialism comes a very high cost to both personal freedoms and more.
Ultimately, we can no longer blithely spend our way out of this mess such as has been the practice for decades. Today, fiscal responsibility and accountability is more important than ever before. But we must spread the word, amplify it and keep repeating it for it to take hold. 250 years ago we counteracted movements like this through direct communication with the people via avenues such as public speeches, newspapers and flyers, spreading the word—Our founding fathers moved an entire nation through well-crafted articles like the ones we see here.
Glad to hear that you and the Current staff will be launching the California Current. In a new spin on an old saying, as uncle Sam used to say, “We Need You!”
I think trying to get a conservative viewpoint out to more people is a great idea. However, if you don’t want those people to immediately turn off the message I think it would be good to turn down the inflammatory language. How about just presenting the facts.
My stepdaughter went there for college, we were sooo proud of her, unfortunately she was indoctrinated in her 4 years there and married a retarded liberal and reproduced. We no longer talk and live a short distance from each other. She used to hunt and fish with this, convicted/pardoned J6er, who loved her and raised her in a very Patriotic environment. The school is nothing more than a Communist Party run institution, it needs to be abolished asap, imo! ❤️🇺🇸💪🏻❤️⚡️🙏🏻
Happy 250 this present has proven himself. God help us with Kamala ended up there now Schumer Hakeem, and these other clowns would get their act together. God bless America.

Valid points. We hope to make this so big they can't ignore it. Just like SBCurrent in SB
Brian: If you've got marketing ideas, send them along. We're trying our best to just use common sense but that doesn't seem to be enough!
I’m not sure of the cost or if they would even let you advertise in that rag, The Independent. But that is where the mind numbed robots of the left get their local information from.
It’s also great for wrapping fish from the Saturday market.
Brian: Ouch, it would really be painful for us to actually send money to the Independent! I don't think I could do that, but thanks for the idea.
I’m sure it would be. What about UCSB‘s school paper? I’m just spitballing here. We have to reach them somehow.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! AMERICA'S 250TH ANNIVERSARY!
A THOUGHT: IF EACH GENERATION WERE 100 YEARS, AMERICA WOULD BE ONLY TWO AND ONE HALF DECADES OLD! AMAZING!
IT IS GOOD THAT YOU ARE BACK.
CAROL IN LOMPOC
Today, remember the lives sacrificed, the blood that was shed so you could sit around and complain.
Did you vote? Who did you vote for?
If you refuse to vote, you don’t get to complain. Choosing not to vote is agreeing with the state of this city, state and country.
If you hide your values and stay silent, you’re helping create the very state of affairs you whine about.
I understand, it’s easier to whine than to pick up a pen.
So vote… or own the outcome.
I think trying to get a conservative viewpoint out to more people is a great idea. However, if you don’t want those people to immediately turn off the message I think it would be good to turn down the inflammatory language. How about just presenting the facts.
I agree with you, Lunna, Please – if you have the time – point out what you consider inflammatory in my piece.
Agree w/ Jim's query...examples...any. You may be accurate...open to what you have,
